Disney Creating the Beginning of Intelligent Robots!?

You've seen Disney's animatronic before: Captain Jack Sparrow, the Avatar on the Pandora ride, and many more. It's what they do, bring their character to life through robots.

But now they're pushing the bar like, way up. Phase two is stuntronics, is what they call it. Creating robots that can perform advanced maneuvers, like their new Spider-Man in Disneyland. You have to check this out.

So in the Disney toolbelt currently is realistic looking animatronics with smooth movements, and also those that can perform advanced maneuvers like flips and simply walking.

The third step is AI, artificial intelligence. Programming a PERSONALITY that they can place into their phase and and phase two robots. They're the robots that can move fluidly, do flips, and walk, but have AI controlling them. They think for themselves through a programmed personality. They smile when they want, they walk when they want, and they actually mimic the personality of the character they were designed after.

That's. So. Cool.

The beginning of this is with Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, here is a clip of their progress so far.

So imagine Siri or Alexa, except with the personality of Groot within the walking realistic robot. This is like, actually creating life.

This is the beginning of something AMAZING. Top of my head, this becomes commercialized, and they print hundreds of minions with minion personalities and you can actually have those cute little guys running around spraying fart blasters at your family.

OR, later down the line, people in their own homes can start bringing their creations to life. Instead of having a character stuck to the screens, they can now actually be brought to life.
